If you are tuned into the natural parenting buzz, then you probably already know that MommyCon is coming to Philadelphia on Sunday, August 11. I’ll be wearing my 1-year-old to the conference with hundreds of area Moms to come together to learn about attachment parenting. There are lots of great brands showcasing their natural, baby care products and workshops to help new and expectant parents navigate the waters of the challenging, yet rewarding method of parenting that is taking the nation by storm.
I got to interview Mommycon founder, Alexzandra Higgins about what to expect at the conference and I think we are all in for a treat.
What advice do you have for Moms who want to make the most out of their experience?
Know your child’s limits, and pace yourself. It is a long day, but one that is full of excitement and fun! You will want to make a list of your must see’s and definitely attend a workshop or two in addition to the seminars and shopping.
What can expectant parents learn?
Birth, breastfeeding, babywearing, those first few weeks home and so much more! Babies don’t come with an instruction manual, but the knowledge you will learn from our speakers is invaluable.
How many brands and Moms are coming to Mommycon?
22 vendors and 40 brands (product)
Are Dads invited, too?
What should Moms expect to see in the Babywearing Lounge?
Carriers from all major brands and even some independent ones! Everything from woven wraps to soft structured carriers, and everything in between.
Are strollers allowed?
Strollers can be used, but are strongly discouraged. You may be asked to fold your stroller if it becomes too crowded.
MommyCon comes to Philly August 11 from 9 to 5:30 at the Sonesta Hotel, 1800 Market Street. Get tickets here: http://www.mommy-con.com/event/details/philadelphia-pa/
